Book review: The First State of Being by Erin Entrada Kelly

 Book description:

Michael's life is normal except that Y2K is months away. One day he and his babysitter, Gibby, meet a boy from the future named Ridge. Ridge can't say anything about the future even though he has information in his pocket. Michael, Gibby, and Ridge try to get Ridge back home where he belongs without changing anything about the future.

Book review:

This book was good and I can see why it won the Newbery award. I always wondered if people actually were worried about Y2K and had to ask my mom because I was born not that long after Y2K. There were a couple times where it was predictable but it didn't stop me from enjoying this book. Great book for kids and adults who want to get into sci-fi and time travel.
