Book review: Brownstone by Samuel Teer

Book description:

Almudena has always wondered about her dad. When her mom goes on a trip over the summer, she goes to visit her dad for the summer. As they repair her dad's broken down brownstone, work through a language barrier, they grow closer.

Book review:

This book shows that kids don't automatically know their culture, and where they come from, and it is up to parents to teach their kids. There is also the aspect that the kid also wants to know and should be able to ask questions. No family is perfect and kids don't have to have perfect, they just need to be loved no matter what. This books art is beautiful and I enjoyed the story. I will be recommending this book.
