Book review: The New Girl by Cassandra Calin

 Book description:

Lia and her family are leaving Romania and going to Canada. During the move, Lia gets her first period. She is already struggling with school, friends, and a new language while trying to manage her period.

Book review:

This book really captures the struggles of a preteen/teen and captures the struggles of an immigrant. I do like graphic novels like this that capture the emotions of the main character without minimizing what she is going through or what others around her are going through.
